Our Summer Fun Kids Camp is a great way for kids to learn the sport in a social environment. The small sails and big floaty boards are easy to use and the kids feel success right away. The three-day windsurfing day camps include windsurfing skills, snack time, and some wind theory, some safety talks, sharing the experience with small groups 3-4 kids per instructor. These youth power camps enrich the lives of the students and promote healthy active lifestyles.

This is our thirteenth year of Summer Kids Camps and they have been a great success. We are Maui's Original Kids Windsurfing Camp and have specialized in promoting kids windsurfing for over 14 years. Many Kids come back several times a summer and sometimes several summers in a row. We also have advanced classes for the slightly older kids that have progressed beyond the beginners program. Our graduates include many accomplished windsurfers and professional athletes as well.

Learning a new sport and making new friends is a great confidence booster. Our campers come alive as they discover the joy and freedom of windsurfing. It is all play to them but they come away from the camps stronger, more confident and bursting with a new enthusiasm for windsurfing.   Check out our photo gallery.

Located at Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului, we are blessed with super steady trade winds all summer long. Our summer windsurfing kids camps start at 9am each day when the winds are calmer, and to get the young ones going.  The students carry their sails up to the beginner cove that is the most protected part of the beach, here they get the day's beach briefing and balance training, and will get into small groups, of similar size and experience levels. The coaches will have two to four kids in their group, sailing, riding tandem, having fun and learning. Each day we break for a snack and do some beach exercises, fun theory, & safety talks.

No experience is necessary. If kids have a little experience, a lot or no experience at all, our program will work for them. Some of our kids will be working on the fundamentals, while others will be doing some more advanced techniques. Just let us know where they are at and we can get them going. Our beginners program starts at 9am, and there is an advanced session begins at 12:30pm till 2:30pm.

The course is primarily for elementary school ages children, averaging from 5 to 15 years of age. All ages can be accommodated. Camps are usually a mixture of local school kids and some summer visitors too.  Many of the local kids come from windsurfing families and are second or third generation windsurfers. Our visitor's children are often a mix of newbies and some from windsurfing families that have been visiting the islands for years. This is a great opportunity for local kids to mix in with some new kids and see some new faces.

What to Bring: To help keep our prices down. We recommend that Kids bring their own life jackets and booties. Kids should bring their own reef shoes. Please ensure your child has some good waterproof sunscreen, and a hat. Sunglasses are optional but if you have them they should also have a leash.
* "Extended session" (all day campers) should bring a lunch, and drinks.
* All participants must be able to swim in deep water (over their heads), and be comfortable in the water. *Kids must be physically fit for the activity.
