About the Spot: Our surf school is located at the island’s most reliable surf spot in Kihei on the South Shore. Our surf lessons zone has different breaks that suit different levels of rider. The beginner area is user-friendly and not too intimidating. Our instructors will guide you to the best location for your level. There are usually several surfable options, so we will always choose the less congested areas, and avoid the crowds. We can find a safe and practice area for every level of surfer and every different ride style.

About the Gear: We supply all the equipment you will need. We have a variety of sizes to accommodate different weight riders. Bigger folks will need more flotation. We provide students with a lycra rashguard shirt, and reef booties for grip and protection. Advanced surfers can rent from our selection of different board styles and types. Half-day, daily and weekly rentals available.

About Our Lessons: Our average lesson is about two hours long, this allows for some talk time and a short land lesson, before getting into the water and catching some waves. Most people will be fully satisfied (and exhausted) after their surf session.

About the location:  The lessons are held close to shore in a sheltered bay. The waves break a short distance offshore over a gently sloping reef. This makes the waves predictable and relatively gentle. (These locations do not have shore-break waves, and are better for beginners).  The students will not need to paddle too far from shore to get their rides.

Only minimal paddling is required: The water depth varies from knee deep to chest deep. There are some deep water sections in the channels, so all surf participants must be able to swim (no exceptions).  Parents and spectators can stay on shore and can get some great views photos of the action. For safety reasons, Non-surfers should not enter the water at the surfing location.
